Abandoned

This series is called "Abandoned" since the photos were abandoned at a photo development store that eventually went out of business.  I got a black garbage bag full of the negatives that people had left there over the years from a student of mine who worked at the place.  The shots on this roll are actually the best photos I have ever used in terms of composition, lighting, and spontaneity of the subject.  I didn't want to paint them for a long time based on that.  They didn't really need me to make them any better, they were already good. Usually I avoid photos like this.  I don't know why I eventually gave in.  It really was a relief to look at them though, after some of the others.  These are all 72"x48", acrylic poured on canvas.
